Stockton-on-Tees selective licensing applies to privately rented properties in Central Stockton, North Thornaby and Newtown, unless the property is a licensable HMO or subject to a statutory exemption.

Properties exempt from this scheme
- Properties that are licensable HMOs are exempt from Stockton-on-Tees selective licensing.

Discounts the council offers
- £50 per property for accredited landlords who are members of the council's Landlord Accreditation Scheme, PLuSS or a national landlord scheme at the time of the licence application.
