Hackney selective licensing applies to single-household lets, single tenants and two individuals sharing in 17 named wards.
The scheme covers 17 named wards. Two streets on either side of a ward boundary can end up with different answers, so checking the ward of the property matters more than the postcode.
Paid in two parts: £555 on application (Part A) and £370 on grant (Part B).
Discounts the council offers
- £100 off Part B if the property has an EPC rating of B or above
- £50 off Part B if the property has an EPC rating of C
- £100 off Part B for accredited landlords
- £100 off Part A for multi-flat properties applying under one application
A landlord who qualifies for the strongest energy and accreditation discounts on this scheme pays around £725 instead of the headline £925 fee, a saving of £200.
