Enfield selective licensing applies to privately rented residential properties in 14 named wards using the ward boundaries in place when the designation was made.
The scheme covers 14 named wards. Two streets on either side of a ward boundary can end up with different answers, so checking the ward of the property matters more than the postcode.
Paid in two parts: £294 on application (Part 1) and £441 when the draft licence is issued (Part 2).
Properties exempt from this scheme
- Properties that require mandatory HMO licensing are exempt from selective licensing.
- Properties that require Enfield additional HMO licensing are exempt from selective licensing.
- Properties let by a registered social landlord are exempt from selective licensing.
- Properties subject to an Interim or Final Management Order are exempt from selective licensing.
- Properties subject to a temporary exemption notice are exempt from selective licensing.
- Other tenancies or licences may be exempt under the Selective Licensing of Houses (Specified Exemptions) (England) Order 2006.
Discounts the council offers
- For a single selective licence covering multiple flats in the same block under the same ownership and management, the Part 1 fee is reduced by £100 for each additional flat.
A landlord who qualifies for the strongest energy and accreditation discounts on this scheme pays around £635 instead of the headline £735 fee, a saving of £100.
