Enfield additional HMO licensing applies borough-wide to HMOs occupied by three or four people from more than one household who share amenities.
Paid in two parts: £800 on application (Part 1) and £650 when the draft licence is issued (Part 2).
Properties exempt from this scheme
- HMOs that require mandatory HMO licensing are exempt from additional HMO licensing.
- HMOs subject to an Interim or Final Management Order are exempt from additional HMO licensing.
- HMOs subject to a temporary exemption notice are exempt from additional HMO licensing.
- Buildings that are not HMOs for Part 2 licensing purposes under Schedule 14 of the Housing Act 2004 are exempt.
- The designation excludes converted blocks of flats to which section 257 of the Housing Act 2004 applies.
Discounts the council offers
- £50 off Part 2 for landlords accredited by LLAS, NRLA, UKALA or BLA, or members of ARLA Propertymark or Safeagent.
- £100 off Part 2 for properties with an EPC rating of C or above.
- Accredited landlords who also qualify for the EPC discount can receive a maximum £150 discount.
