Charnwood additional licensing applies across the borough to HMOs of any size occupied by three or more persons living in two or more households, and to section 257 HMOs where all self-contained flats are let and occupied.
Charnwood states there is a fee of up to £700 per licence. The fee is paid in two parts: £395 Part A when the application is made and up to £305 Part B when the licence is issued.
Properties exempt from this scheme
- A Temporary Exemption Notice can exempt a licensable property from licensing for three months where steps are being taken so the property no longer requires a licence.
- In exceptional circumstances, the temporary exemption can be extended for a further three months.
