Arun additional HMO licensing applies to HMOs in River ward in Littlehampton and Hotham and Marine wards in Bognor Regis that are not subject to mandatory HMO licensing.
Paid in two parts for a 3- or 4-person house/flat: £1,902 on application (Part 1) and £445 before issue (Part 2). Section 257 and converted building fees differ.
Properties exempt from this scheme
- HMOs required to be licensed under mandatory HMO licensing do not need an additional HMO licence.
- HMOs subject to a temporary exemption under section 62 of the Housing Act 2004 are exempt while the notice applies.
- Buildings managed by a local housing authority, registered social landlord, police or fire and rescue authority or a health service body are exempt.
- Owner-occupied properties are exempt, except where section 257 rules apply.
- Holiday lets and Airbnb-style short-term lets are exempt unless one room is let as a tenant's main residence.
